Mexico fair presents Iranian culture

Cultural aspects of Iran are being presented during an exhibition in the Mexican capital, Mexico City.

Iranian Institute for Development of Contemporary Art, headed by Mehdi Afzali, is representing Iran during the 9th International Fair of Friendly Cultures in Mexico City, which opened this past weekend.

Iranian-Islamic clothing and fashion is being presented at Iran’s pavilion during the event.

This year’s theme is ‘Cultural Diversity’, which is aimed to promote values, traditions, beliefs and expressions of various cultures, within a framework of respect, recognition and tolerance.

Visitors to the important international cultural event in Mexico will have the opportunity to learn more about the traditions, customs, identity and cultures of participating countries, through different artistic, educational and cultural activities at their respective pavilions.

The International Fair of Friendly Cultures was established in 2009 as a initiative of the Mexican government in coordination with different diplomatic representations accredited in the country. The cultural project is aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Mexico and other countries.

The fair will run at various locations in the Mexican capital through June 4.
